It's been a pretty busy last 7 days in our lives!
To start off, Carson and I are officially residents in South Carolina. We went to the DMV and got our new licenses and license plates. I almost don't recognize my car because of the strange looking plates on the back. I must say that I was dreading this trip because of the horrible reputations that the DMV's have in Orlando. But when we checked in they gave us a number and as we entered the next room they were already calling our number! It was pretty painless. So now all of the big changes have been made and I have to say it's a huge relief. The move is very bittersweet. As fun as it is to have my own home and be living in a place that I love, it's still sad when I think about all we left behind in Florida. Changes, even good ones, are still hard.
Carson and I also started a couple's bible study last week. We had 3 couples show up on our first week! God brought a great group together and we're looking forward to really getting to know each other and digging into what God has to say about marriage.
This weekend Carson and I went to visit my Grammy and other family in Alabama. Little did we know that we had picked the worst weather weekend to travel. We drove in rain pretty much the whole way there on Friday and were greeted by tornado sirens when we got there... and woken up by them the next morning as well. The weather finally cleared up for the rest of Saturday, but on Sunday morning we awoke to a world covered in white...SNOW! Now, being a Florida girl this is a pretty big deal for me so I was a little disappointed that we had to get ready and go to church instead of make snowballs.
We did get to play in it a little bit when we stopped at a rest area on our way home. We took some nice pictures before we put the camera down and a snowball fight ensued.
But as the sun went down and we continued going north, the snow was not as exciting because of the slowdowns that it caused. We made it home finally to see our new home covered in snow for the first time.
You didn't leave anything behind in Florida - you just added something on!
ReplyDeleteWell, the one thing you left behind was sunshine! Clearly.
