Bath Time

Neither of my babies were fans of the sponge bath.  So when Jordan's umbilical cord finally fell of, I was excited for her to get a real bath. I had Carson get out the camera to document the occasion. Too bad she hates real baths too.

 But loves cuddling with Mommy!

Home Life

Since we've been home we've been transitioning to life with two kids.  My mom stayed for two weeks which was a huge help!  I don't know what we would have done without her. She and Miles were sleeping in the same room so she would get up with him (even at 5:30) and let Carson and I focus on Jordan and sleep on her schedule. She made sure we had food on the table for all of our meals and she was a huge support during the up and down emotions that can happen post partum.  The day she left, I was terrified about how I was going to do it on my own, but we made it. It actually hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. Jordan has already settled into a feeding schedule and Miles has been very cooperative.  The TV has helped too. . .

Sleeping. It's what babies do best (during the day. . . )

Miles has been doing really well with her and loves giving her kisses.

Cuddling with Mrs. Carling.  We finally got to resume our play dates and she was very excited to get to hold Jordan.

Halloween

We tried to go Trick or Treating at the Greenville Zoo for their "Boo in the Zoo". This took place on the weekend so the dads could participate too!  We packed a picnic, dressed up the kids, and headed to Greenville. Unfortunatly every other family in the Upstate had the same plans.  The line was over a hour long, probably more like two hours. We decided the kids wouldn't know the difference anyways and decided to picnic at the park outside of the zoo and let the kids play on the playground. They still had a great time.  Miles was a Clemson Football player, his friends were the cheerleaders, and Jordan was the football!

Correction: Miles was a flying football player. Carson likes to throw him high and Miles just loves it!

Christine's Shower

The day after my shower, Carling and I hosted one for Christine. (Needless to say it was a crazy weekend and wore this pregnant mama out!)  We had a great time enjoying a mexican lunch followed by lots of baby boy things for baby Jayce.

GiGi and Pops

My mom and dad came up the weekend of my baby shower in September.  It was nice to get some projects done before Jordan's arrival.  Mom brought some sewing projects for the nursery and we got Jordan's room pretty much all set up.  (Pictures to come soon)

I had a meeting at the church one day so Gigi and Pops took Miles to the goat farm.  He had fun with the goats, but he really just wanted to play with the cats!

Hanging out with family

Carson's parents came to visit back in September for Carson's Aunt's 70th birthday. We had a great visit!  Carson always gets his camera out when he's with his dad, but as I was looking through the pictures we didn't get any together as a family.  It never fails though, that when cameras are out, we get some cute ones of Miles!

Jordan Elizabeth Snipes

Jordan Elizabeth Snipes arrived on Wednesday, October 17th at 12:40am with another easy labor.  We had our weekly playdate on Tuesday with my friend Carling, and her daughter Ciahna who is Miles' age. We had worked on the kids Halloween costumes and I had completed Miles'. I told Carling about 2 pm that day that I was ready for Jordan to get here and wanted her to be a part of the halloween costume!  Little did I know that just a few hours later my wish would come true!

We took a trip into Anderson with the kids to get Miles his first pet, a Betta Fish. (Side note: Pet stores are like free, mini zoos for young children! The kids had a great time.)  As we were leaving Anderson, I had a contraction.  I thought nothing of it since I had been having contractions for the past 4-5 weeks, but I started my timer anyways to see if another one came.  12 minutes later, another one came.  Then 7 minutes later, the next one arrived.  By the time we arrived home, I had timed 5 contractions, all less than 15 minutes apart.  Carson had just arrived home and was getting ready to start a project outside, but decided to stay inside and see how things played out. I proceeded to get dinner ready and told Carson that if I had one more contraction under 15 minutes, we would go to the hospital.  I continued on with dinner and Carson began to get a little nervous.  With Miles, I didn't meet up with Carson until I got to the hospital so it was fun and humorous to me to watch him freak out this time.  Miles and I had dinner (if I was in labor I didn't want to be hungry!) but Carson was too excited/anxious to eat and finished packing the hospital bags. . .

Along came another contraction. . .

We loaded up the car and dropped Miles off at a friends house nearby.  I was taking my time explaining his schedule and Carson was trying to push me out the door.  I didn't believe I was in labor yet, and wouldn't believe it until a doctor told me I was!  At this point I was still just feeling a tightening sensation with the contractions and no pain.

We arrived at the hospital and found out that I was 7cm dilated and in active labor.  They got me admitted and all hooked up and then it was just time to wait for Jordan to make her appearance.   We had a fabulous delivery nurse named Molly, which made it very confusing when people would talk to one of us, but she was great! A few hours and  2 1/2 pushes later, Jordan Elizabeth made her way into the world!

Gigi jumped on a plane as soon as she could and arrived the next afternoon.

Our first attempt at a family picture.  Carling and her family had picked Miles up on Wednesday and brought him to the hospital to meet his little sister! It was so wonderful having so many great friends to help us during this time.

We went home less than 48 hours after arriving at the hospital and it was so great to have our new, expanded family together!
