Friends

Last week we had to say good bye to some very special friends, the Wylies. They are moving to China at the end of the month.  This a very exciting time for them, but the good byes are always hard. Luckily, we got to spend some great time together before they left. They got to spend the last two days with us at our house. It was a tight squeeze but SO much fun!  The kids had a great time playing together and we got to spend some quality time with Jon and Emily playing Settlers of Catan and praying for each other.
Already this week there have been a few times I wanted to pick up the phone and call Emily. So many things remind me of them and I'm going to miss sharing life together.  We love you Wylies!!

Miles and Wade enjoying their morning cup of milk.

Their last night in Clemson, our small group got together for a pool party potluck.  It was a wonderful evening having almost everyone together (We missed you Johnstons, Arrowoods and Caldwells!!)

Miles and Wade taking a break from the pool. I remember visiting Wade in the hospital when he was just one day old, and Emily and Lydda Grace coming to meet Miles when we was born. Now they are both walking around, playing together.  And next time we see them they will get to meet Jordan!

Carson playing with the babies in the pool.  Love those smiles!

The group and all our crazy, wonderful kids!

The Guys

When we got home from our trip, we were unloading the car at the hottest part of the day. The boys took their shirts off and happened to be matching.  I love to see Carson having so much fun with our little boy!  Miles laughs so much when he plays with Carson.

Vacation Adventures

Hiking. That's a stick in one hand and a rock in the other.

Riding along with daddy

After our hike, we stopped at the orchard. They weren't picking anything that day but had a huge store to look around with delicious apple slushies.

Our last day we went tubing down the river.  The river was a little low so some of the rapids made for a bumpy ride. We also found a rope swing along the way that Carson had a great time swinging from.  Miles loved being in the water and didn't even seem to notice that it was FREEZING! He much preferred the calm parts of the river to the rapids but did well for the 2.5 hours we were on the river.

Eating a snack before we got our tubes

He was so excited to be near water he was happy just standing in a puddle.

Getting the life jacket fitted.

This is what he did about the last 30 minute of the trip. It was so precious!

Picnic after the river ride.

That's Carson and Miles on the bridge if you can even see them.

Vacation!!

Thanks to the 4th of July being in the middle of the week, we had a very long weekend to take a vacation. We had some family who had graciously offered to let us use their cabin in Blue Ridge, GA so we were able to take our first family vacation!  (This will be our first and only with just Miles, so it was extra special!)

The cabin was beautiful and so was the surrounding scenery.  We spent our mornings out exploring the town, hiking, or tubing and then spent the afternoons naping and relaxing.  It was a much needed escape for all of us.

Miles tromping through the leaves.

Feeding mommy grapes, his once favorite food (now he won't eat a single one!)

Our view from the porch

Plenty of rocks for Miles' throwing pleasure.  This kid can throw!

Playing with daddy

The town was full of cute little shops that we had a great time exploring.  This big Moose topiary was a great picture opportunity! (Gigi has a slight moose obsession so we took these with her in mind)
