Orlando Adventures

Miles and I spent some time in Orlando when the new baby was making me so sick.  Even though I could hardly function in the evenings, Gigi and Pops made sure Miles still got to have some fun. One night they took him to a near by farm to see some baby goats, as well as some other animals.

Checking out the cow

Chasing the farm cat.  His favorite animal.

I love his face. He is not too sure about that turkey.

While hanging around the house, Miles got to practice his piano skills.
He would play a few notes . . .

And then turn around and give a big smile.

He also enjoyed playing in the dirt. Gigi took a picture of this to prove that their dog, Baxter, had not be the one to dig the hole.

Then there was time for walking

The one outing I took was to the preschool carnival.  It was my mom's 20th year directing the kids (she's the music teacher there) and Miles enjoyed being out with other kids and the carnival games.

Party Time

To celebrate Miles' birthday we spent the morning at the park with some friends from church. We actually had a joint party with the Aubry's who have a daughter that is two weeks older than Miles.

Time for cake!

He liked it!

Daddy Time

Miles loves spending time with his daddy. Carson can make him laugh so hard!  When Carson gets some from work, Miles claps and squeals!  I love that they have such a bond.

Don't worry, he's not as close to the fan as he looks.

Miles turns 1

Gigi and Pops came for the weekend of Miles' birthday. We celebrated at home as a family on his actual birthday and then had a joint party with the families from our small group. Here are some pictures of our celebration at home.

Anxious to open his gifts (with his mouth)

I just love both of their expressions in this photo

He loved his blocks!

"I'm a big boy!"

Cuddle time with Pops. Ginny wanted some cuddles too!

The Outdoors

Miles loves being outside. Sometimes when we are inside, he will take my hand and walk from the front door to the back until I take him outside. He is not afraid to get dirty or scraped up.  This kid is all boy.

Daddy is teaching Miles early how to mow the lawn.  Miles didn't really like the loud noise and was happy to retreat back inside with mommy.

Dirt

I made an unplanned trip to Orlando last month because I was so sick with my pregnancy. Mom offered to help take care of me and Miles and I thought Carson deserved a break.  Pictures to come soon of our time with Gigi and Pops. Here are some picture we got while at the Snipes. Miles found a planter on the back patio that didn't have much in it but dirt: his favorite thing!

Mmmmm

I love the dirt goatee

Climbing the stairs. He LOVES stairs.  Mommy loves that these are padded.

12 Months

Miles wants everyone to know that he is a big boy!  He wanted to look extra tall for his monthly picture and his daddy wanted him to look extra snazzy (hence the suit)!

Miles is babbling all the time now. He says a few words (mama, dada, baa), so now we're just trying to teach him what they mean.  He still eats a ton, and is drinking from a straw now. Just yesterday he started walking all by himself. I now officially have a toddler on my hands. I'm so excited and may have cried a little.  He has been walking for two months now while we hold his hand but yesterday he just decided to break free.  It's so precious!

At his 12 month check up his stats were
Weight: 20 lbs 7 oz/ 25th percentile
Length: 31 inches/ 75th percentile
Head Circumference: 18.5 inches/ 75th percentile

Time with the Snipes

Ok, I realize that I'm very behind but with my last pregnancy I didn't blog for almost five months so I'm making improvements. I have a lot of pictures to share of our last 3 months.  They won't all be in order and I don't have all of them yet, but I hope you enjoy the updates as they come.

When we were home for Matt and Selina's wedding in March we got to spend some time with Carson's family too.  It was very nice, especially since Carson hasn't been to Orlando since last July!
